EDUCATION
The Heart of Spirit Australia

WHY ACCREDITATION?
Education with Integrity
Education is the foundation of Spirit Australia’s mission, and our greatest offering to the community.
We need Accreditation.
We need a Code of Ethics & Conduct.
We need to connect, trust, and work together for everyone’s shared interests and the common good.
And the “we” works both ways:
Spiritual practitioners, students, and teachers
and
The general public and the common good of all
Individual Growth, Shared Foundations
Spiritual development is deeply personal. Like a row of colourful beach shacks, we may share a common foundation, yet each of us brings our own style, rhythm, and way of connecting with spirit. That’s what makes this work both beautiful and complex.
Through Spirit Australia education, we are building a solid structure. One that supports individual growth while actively encouraging personal discovery.
Our vision is to provide accessible, inclusive pathways for people to:
-
Awaken spiritual awareness
-
Explore their unique connection
-
Deepen understanding
-
Enrich their personal journey
Everyone’s way of working with spirit is different, and that diversity is both accepted and essential.
By gathering the wisdom of our highly experienced elders, dedicated practitioners, and trusted teachers with decades of proven integrity, we’re creating a shared foundation of understanding that honours both individuality and unity.
No Gatekeepers. Just Open Doors.
Spirit Australia offers education across five levels, with clear entry points and supportive guidance. There's no secret knowledge. No hidden path. Just an open invitation.
Everyone is welcome.
Anyone can begin...
And we hope you will!

Professional Accreditation
Levels 1 & 2 Foundations
Here is the perfect starting point for your journey. Whether you're brand new or returning with fresh curiosity, Levels 1 & 2 offer fundamental knowledge that is both accessible and deeply meaningful. While the material may feel complex, or even confronting, for some at first, remember that we all grow at our own pace, and every journey is unique. Courses at Levels 1 & 2 are:
-
Delivered fully online
-
Designed to be supportive, trustworthy, and encouraging
-
Focused on key concepts and spiritual practices that can be understood and explored by all
Level 3 CSA Integration
At Level 3, we begin to connect the dots between personal experience and spiritual understanding. This is where deeper awareness emerges; not just from your own insights, but from your engagement with a broader spiritual community. This level explores:
-
How your personal practices relate to those of others
-
Shared principles between different spiritual paths
-
What we can learn from both our differences and similarities
Level 4 ASA Expression
Level 5 DSA Mastery
These are the advanced levels, where your accumulated experience begins to express itself in refined, personal ways. Think of it like music: In the early stages, you practice scales and master techniques. By the time you reach intermediate and advanced stages, your personal style and interpretation begin to take centre stage. The structure remains, but now you are co-creating with spirit in your own voice.
In general terms, the ASA is a professional qualification for Practitioners and the DSA is a professional qualification for Teachers.
At Levels 4 & 5:
-
The focus shifts to authentic expression and spiritual maturity
-
Students begin developing individualised approaches while maintaining ethical and structural integrity
-
Accreditation becomes a natural part of the process, affirming both growth and readiness to serve.

FAQ
When Can I Begin the Courses and Accreditation Process?
Spirit Australia's national board, plus other consultants, have been working diligently for many months to shape a complete and inclusive education framework. Our vision embraces everyone: from curious beginners in the general public to wise elders who have served the spiritual community for decades.
It’s a big task, and we’re taking it seriously. We’re here for the long haul. We’re committed to inclusive collaboration every step of the way. We’re also learning from best practices in both mainstream and spiritual education, in Australia and internationally. There are many moving parts to get right, but we’re making great progress.
The short answer? Spirit Australia’s courses and accreditation will begin in 2026, with a planned launch of the curriculum and student handbook at the Summit Week in September 2025.
What About Other Courses in Australia and Online?
This is such an important question, and one we’re genuinely excited about! Spirit Australia is not here to replace existing teachers and courses... In fact, it’s the opposite: we actively support and promote the excellent work already being done across the country.
Our Level 3, 4, and 5 qualifications require students to complete a minimum 20 hours of Complementary Courses. That’s where you come in!
If you offer spiritual education—whether as an individual, organisation, or group—we’d love to connect. Spirit Australia is creating a national network that will help amplify your work, increase your reach, and foster a stronger sense of community and shared integrity. Please, get in touch to find out how we can collaborate.
If Spirit Australia Is a Charity, Why Is Accreditation Paid?
Excellent question. Yes, we are a registered national charity, established to advance education in the public interest. Our charitable focus is twofold:
1) To raise spiritual awareness across the broader Australian population
2) To support a more professional, ethical, and transparent spiritual community
This work takes time, energy, and resources—often through countless volunteer hours—but eventually, it requires financial sustainability. Offering intermediate and advanced levels of education (especially ASA Level 4 & DSA Level 5) is one of our planned methods of fundraising to support Spirit Australia’s ongoing charitable and community work.
Why Is Spiritual Healing Not Offered at Level 4 or 5?
Healing is included at Levels 1 and 2, and it remains an essential part of our curriculum. However, there are two key reasons we’ve chosen not to offer an Advanced Certificate ASA (Level 4) or Diploma DSA (Level 5) in Healing at this stage:
1) Reiki and other modalities already have strong representation in Australia, supported by established organisations that meet national needs.
2) All mediumship is healing. Whether through psychic reading, trance, spirit art or sound, at the heart of every session is healing through connection with spirit.
Because healing expresses itself in such diverse forms, we are still working on trying to establish if healing courses at the ASA & DSA professional level can be meaningfully created by Spirit Australia. We’re open to collaboration. If you’re passionate about spiritual or energy healing, and feel called to contribute your insights, we’d love to hear from you.
What Does “Accredited” Mean in a Spiritual Context?
Accreditation through Spirit Australia means that a practitioner, teacher, or course has met clear, consistent educational and ethical standards developed by experienced elders and educators in the field.
The Australian Qualifications Framework is applied to vocations that are recognised, and at this stage, the profession of psychic medium (for example) is NOT recognised as a vocation. This means that until we can lobby enough to have spirit-based work deemed legitimate as a profession, it is not possible to to have AQF status granted.
But what WE CAN do is plan and deliver courses that are fully aligned to the AQF framework. And that's exactly what we've done.
We may have a few years to wait while society catches up, but when it does, converting the Spirit Australia Certificate (Level 3), Advanced Certificate (Level 4) and Diploma (Level 5) will be as simple as the press of a button. Until then, anyone who advertises a "Certificate or Diploma" in Australia is simply referring to a rather loose collection of names for things, rather than an actual AQF qualification.
Spirit Australia's CSA, ASA & DSA qualifactions ARE at Certificate, Advanced Certificate, and Diploma level.
It's just that there is no current vocational category in Australia (or anywhere else in the world) to put them in. Yet. And so we wait...
In the meantime, in the case of spirit work - mediumship, readings, and so on - we certainly do have to consider accreditation as a very important part of spirit-based education.
Accreditation is not about regulation or restriction; it’s about trust, integrity, and public confidence.
Spirit Australia’s accreditation ensures that those offering spiritual services are qualified, ethical, and accountable, while still honouring the personal and intuitive nature of spiritual work.
Who Can Apply for Accreditation?
Anyone who is committed to working with spirit in a responsible and ethical way may apply.
This includes:
* Practising mediums, healers, and tutors
* Emerging students seeking professional recognition
* Spiritual organisations and training groups
Spirit Australia’s five levels and three accreditation pathways framework is designed for both new and experienced practitioners, with recognition for prior learning and demonstrated integrity in practice.
How Does Accreditation Benefit the Public?
Public trust is at the heart of accreditation. When a candidate for ASA (Practitioner) or DSA (Teacher) is accredited through Spirit Australia, it means they have completed recognised education, agreed to a Code of Ethics & Conduct, and demonstrated professional competence. For the public, this creates peace of mind, knowing that the person they are learning from or receiving a service from has been assessed, supported, and endorsed by a national charitable body dedicated to education and ethical practice.
Do I Need to Belong to a Church or Organisation to Join?
Not at all. Spirit Australia is non-religious, inclusive, and community-based. You do not need to belong to any religion, church, or belief system to participate. Our foundation is spiritual education, not religious doctrine. Spirit Australia has Nine Foundations (about-us) and a Code of Ethics & Conduct that members must abide by. We welcome people from all cultures, backgrounds, and pathways of belief who are drawn to integrity-based spiritual development.
Will My Previous Training or Experience Be Recognised?
Yes. Spirit Australia offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for those who already have experience, training, or qualifications in spiritual or related fields. Your previous work—whether through workshops, mentorships, or years of public service—will be valued and assessed fairly. Our goal is not to make you start over, but to help you formalise and honour your experience within a transparent national framework.
Can I Teach Under Spirit Australia?
Yes, absolutely. Spirit Australia CSA, ASA & DSA courses require students to attend a minimum 20 hours of Complimentary Courses and that's where you come in! Our courses rely on community teaching and the many wonderful classes, circles and groups that already exist acorss Australia.
Additionally, DSA graduates and people with other qualifications (CSNU, DSNU) or significant RPL will soon be invited to apply for Tutor Team and Assessment Team accreditation. Spirit Australia's vision is to build a national cooperative of trusted educators and elders who share knowledge freely, responsibly, in service to spirit, and with respect for students’ growth.
What Are Levels 1 to 5?
Spirit Australia’s five-level education pathway offers a clear and progressive structure:
Level 1 & 2:
Free public education open to all, fulfilling our charitable purpose of advancing education and awareness.
Level 3:
Certificate of Spirit Australia (Foundations) – for those beginning professional study.
Level 4:
Advanced Certificate (Practitioner) – for practising mediums and spiritual educators.
Level 5:
Diploma (Teacher) – for those ready to teach, assess, and mentor others.
How Can I Contribute to the Development of the Framework?
Spirit Australia is being built by the community, for the community. We warmly welcome contributions from experienced practitioners, teachers, and organisations who share our vision of integrity and inclusion. You can: * Join consultation sessions
* Share insights and feedback
* Contribute to curriculum design or ethics review
* Offer complementary courses (for CSA, ASA & DSA)
* Join one of our working committees
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
