DSA - Level 5 Teacher

The Diploma of Spirit Australia (DSA) is the Teacher level, our highest qualification.

It recognises advanced practitioners who are ready to guide others, demonstrate at the highest standards, and contribute to the future of spirit education.

This qualification prepares you to teach, mentor, and lead with both skill and responsibility.

Student Handbook

What You’ll Do

Personal Practice (250 hrs): Continue dedicated study and practice, supported by a journal (not assessed).
Complementary Courses (20 hrs + 3 reports): Participate in additional workshops, teaching circles, or advanced study. Submit three short reflections.
Formal Assessments (approx. 300+ hrs):
- Personal Reflective Essay (750 words or 10-min video, focused on teaching and leadership).
- Demonstration of Platform Mediumship or Trance & Spirit Arts.
- Viva Voce: 25-minute oral interview (“Teacher”).

Recognition & Progression

AQF Alignment: Diploma Level 5 – approx. 1,800 hrs, 1–2 years full-time.
Professional Standing: Graduates are listed as Spirit Australia Teachers (with membership).
National Map Listing: Eligible to appear as a Diploma Teacher on the Spirit Australia national directory.
Legacy Pathway: DSA graduates may be invited to mentor future students and contribute to Spirit Australia’s teaching community.

Entry Pathways & RPL

Prerequisite: Completion of ASA (Level 4 Advanced Certificate).
RPL Option: Experienced teachers (minimum 10 years) may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Must show RPL mastery of the six Foundation Units and significant teaching experience.
Assessments for RPL candidates include:
- Demonstration (platform mediumship or trance).
- Viva Voce (25 mins, Teacher level).

DSA Quick Facts

Duration: 1–2 years full-time (approx. 1,800 hrs)
Cost: $1,800 enrolment & assessment fee + $35 annual membership (to maintain Teacher listing)
Payment Plan: $300 x 6 months
Prerequisite: ASA (Level 4) or via RPL
AQF Equivalent: Diploma (Level 5)

The Diploma of Spirit Australia (DSA) is our most advanced and respected qualification, designed for those ready to step into leadership, mentorship, and teaching.

After completing the ASA Advanced Certificate, you’ll undertake another 20 hours of complementary courses, present a live demonstration of platform mediumship, and engage in a reflective Viva Voce exploring your development as a spiritual leader. You'll also submit a written reflection on how you aim to support others in their spiritual education journey. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available, acknowledging your unique path and prior experience.

The DSA helps raise the standard of professionalism in our community, affirming your readiness to serve with wisdom, skill, and integrity.
